- The Beauty in Letting Go – A Lesson from Stone Wrapping
Sometimes, we must let go to make space for something deeper, kinder, and stronger. A lost opportunity may be clearing the way for something even more magical. A friendship that fades may have served its purpose, making room for new growth. And when we feel lost, it might just mean we are on the verge of discovering a more profound purpose—our true path. In my stone wrapping, I see this truth reflected in every piece I create. The stones I choose have traveled through time, shaped by the elements, carrying stories of transformation. The leather cord that embraces each one is not meant to confine but to highlight its natural beauty, honoring both its history and the journey ahead. Just like these wrapped stones, our own paths are paved with moments of loss and change—stepping-stones leading us to our most authentic selves. So when something slips away before you’re ready, trust that what’s coming will be worth every step. One day, you’ll look back and see how each stone, each twist, and each turn was exactly where it needed to be. Let your journey unfold with trust. The beauty of your path is in its design.
- “The Art of Wrapped Rocks: Where Creativity Meets Nature”
Pacific Northwest Artist Lori Marshall Welcome to ZenWrockz Blog! I’m so excited to share my passion for the art of wrapped rocks and how this unique craft combines the beauty of nature with creative design. Whether you’re a fan of natural stones, a seeker of zen energy, or simply someone who appreciates handmade artistry, you’re in the right place. What Inspired Me The journey of creating wrapped rocks began with my love for nature and a desire to work with materials that resonate with grounding energy. There’s something magical about transforming a simple stone into a meaningful piece of art. Wrapping them with leather cord isn’t just a creative process—it’s a way to honor the earth’s timeless wisdom and beauty. I actually started wrapping rocks while with my family on our annual camping trip. Once I completed my first wrapped rock, I was hooked! It was my daughter who encouraged me to pursue this art more intently and before I knew it my wrapped rocks were in art shows, galleries and gift shops. I havent stopped wrapping since then! The Tradition Behind Wrapped Rocks Zen Garden with wrapped rock Wrapped stones were at one time used to mark a path leading to a specific garden. They also draw inspiration from Japanese traditions of stone appreciation, such as suiseki and Zen practices. These traditions emphasize the harmony between man-made art and natural forms, encouraging mindfulness and balance. Every wrap I design is infused with intention, whether it symbolizes gratitude, strength, direction, or prosperity. What You’ll Find on My Website • Intricately wrapped rocks in a variety of designs, each with a unique energy and purpose. • Stone vases wrapped in leather , perfect for bringing natural beauty into your home. • Zen-inspired products to promote mindfulness, balance, and tranquility. • Art Gallery pieces using larger rocks, crystals and other materials.
